October 2026 Newsletter – Kitchen & Bath Inspiration to Bring Home

October is Kitchen & Bath Month, so we’re taking a look at a few details that can make kitchens and bathrooms both beautiful and functional. Whether you’re planning a remodel or simply thinking about what you’d change in your current space, we hope you find a little inspiration to bring home.

The Heart of the Kitchen

For many families, the kitchen island is truly the heart of the home. It can be a place to prep meals, gather with family, enjoy a quick breakfast, help with homework, entertain friends or simply sit and catch up. When planning a kitchen, think about how you actually live and what you need your island to do for you – from seating and storage to prep space and everyday gathering.

Mixing Materials

A kitchen doesn’t have to have one finish or material throughout. Mixing wood, painted cabinetry, stone, metal and tile can add dimension and personality while keeping the space cohesive. We’re seeing more kitchens embrace a layered mix of materials, such as combining natural wood with painted cabinetry, varied countertop surfaces or statement tile. The goal isn’t for everything to match, but for the materials to work well together.

Creating a Bathroom Retreat

Bathrooms have become more than just functional spaces – they can also be a place to slow down and unwind. Thoughtful lighting, beautiful tile, comfortable finishes and plenty of storage can make a bathroom feel both practical and relaxing. Even small details, like a unique tile pattern or a beautiful plumbing finish, can give the space its own personality. Consider what helps you unwind

Find Inspiration at the Fall Parade of Homes

The Madison Area Builders Association Fall Parade of Homes starts this weekend. See our interior design work at 327 Clear Pond Way in Verona, where we worked on the home’s finishes, selections and paint palette. If you’re considering a kitchen, bath or whole-home project, the Parade is a great way to see products, finishes and design ideas in person and gather inspiration for your own home.
